• Madonna yesterday started her legal defence against workers at one of her African charity projects trying to sue her for unfair dismissal. Former employees claimed they were forced to sign an 'unfair' termination deal. But in papers filed to a Malawi court, the 52-year-old, who adopted two children from Malawian orphanages, said: "There is nothing unfair about the termination. It was necessitated by genuine economic reasons." Madge had said her charity decided to end funding 'after a careful review'. The case is set be heard in court on April 27. (musicrooms.net)
