Producers Mark Kamins dies, Madonna makes a statement
No Comments
DJ/Producer Mark Kamins, the man that launched Madonna's carrer in 1982 by playing her demos at Danceteria and introducing her to Sire Record boss Seymour Stein, has died of a heart attack.
Following his death, Madonna released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
"I'm very sorry to hear about Marks death. I haven't seen him for years but if it weren't for him, I might not have had a singing career. He was the first DJ to play my demos before I had a record deal. He believed in me before anyone else did. I owe him a lot. May he Rest in Peace."
We thank you, Mr Kamins, for introducing us to the music of the biggest pop star today.
