Madonna to kick off her Tour in the Mediterranean

Our friends over at MadonnaTribe have more exciting news about Madonna's tour itinerary, and we at MadonnaSerbia are happy to hear: The queen of pop is coming to out region again!

Madonna's will stay around the Mediterranean Sea for the first batch of concerts of her upcoming tour, MadonnaTribe has learnt and can exclusively report. Following the kick off in Tel Aviv - where Madonna can possibly perform more than one show at the end of May 2012 - the tour will then visit Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, and get back to the Mediterranean region to stop in Istanbul, Turkey and Zagreb, Croatia before reaching Italy.
After the concerts in Milan and Florence we told you about the other day the show will then head to the Iberian peninsula and visit Barcelona in Spain and Coimbra in Portugal.
The tour will then continue to move around Europe, heading North first and then East, and finally back to Southern Europe where the final stop is currently set in Nice as previously reported, but with chances to add some dates at a later stage.
Most of the concerts will take place in open air venues, shaping the show as a stadium tour, with a few exceptions, Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona being one of them. On a side note you may have also spotted around the net a list of dates in Russia and Ukraine, as also reported on our Forum two days ago.
Please note that we understand that negotiations for these concerts is still taking place at this stage.

We're told for the past two weeks Cee Lo has been traveling to New York to practice with Madonna. And he is expected to bring a new sound to some of Madonna's classic hits!Both artists are known for their wild and creative styles, so it will be exciting to see what they cook up!

For those who don't know him, he's a famous American song-writer, producer and actor, but is perhaps best known as one of the two guys that formed Gnarls Barkley.

My dear friends at MadonnaTribe brought up some more exclusives on Madonna's upcoming projects and we gathered them all together.

Madonna will attend a special Super Bowl Press Conference on February 2nd. The press conference will highlitght what's in store for the Halftime Show and Madonna will be there to explain how this will be the greatest show on earth!

On the promo side, Madonna will be featured on two major US magazines. She'll make the cover story of The Advocate and she will be also featured in People magazine with an extensive article even although she won't be the cover girl this time.

M.D.N.A. is currently set to be the album in Madonna's career with the longest running time" - featuring a dozen songs on the regular CD with a few more to be added on the special edition packaging.
On Friday 3rd - two days before the Super Bowl - the new song will hit radios and also be available online and to download on all the major music outlets worldwide. The promo machine is working at full throttle and chances are that, although the Give Me All Your Luvin' day is set for February 3rd, a special preview of the new single will premiere the day before! And you read it right! The title of the new single has slightly changed again and it's now spelled "Give Me All Your Luvin'"!

And speaking of long run, her upcoming World Tour is also set to cover an incredible span of time. Just to give you a rough idea of what we're talking about, after kicking off in Tel Aviv at the end of May and having a few stops in the Middle East, the Madonna Tour will stay around Europe for three entire months for about 30 difference performances. The official Tour announcement is taking place two days after the Super Bowl, with tickets for the first announced concerts going on sale immediately afterwards.The upcoming Madonna tour will stop in two different Italian venues this Summer, and MadonnaTribe can confirm that the concerts planned are the following:

June 14, Milan, Stadio Giuseppe Meazza
June 16, Florence, Stadio Artemio Franchi

As reported yesterday here on MadonnaTribe.com, these are just the first dates of a three month leg in Western Europe, which will see Madonna perform about 30 concerts up to an August 21st show planned at the Charles-Ehrmann stadium in Nice, France. The show will the visit other continents and territories, and will also bring the Queen of Pop in places where she has never performed before.

Madonna slammed for using narcotic drug name as new album title

Madonna has started something of a hullabaloo after revealing that the title of her latest album will be M.D.N.A. – which some people consider to be too close to the name for the drug MDMA.The 12th studio album from the New York-based pop star – but first with Interscope Records – won’t be released for a few months yet, but health campaigners have hit out that 53-year-old for using a title that is similar to the drug known by many as ecstasy.
The Like a Virgin hitmaker announced the album’s name yesterday, but was then criticised almost immediately afterwards for glamorising the use of drugs.It is believed that the album’s title comes from abbreviating Madonna’s name, although it does have a similar sound to the drug, so sparking the outrage among many.
Lucy Dawe, a spokesperson for campaigning group Cannabis Skunk Sense, spoke to British newspaper The Sun about the singer’s choice of title, saying: “It’s an ill-advised decision.”
Meanwhile, M.D.N.A is scheduled to be released in March, although the Vogue hitmaker – whose real name is Madonna Louise Ciccone – has confessed that she won’t be surprised if it is leaked online ahead of then.
Madonna, in a taped interview for tomorrow evening’s BBC One programme The Graham Norton Show, told the Irish host: “It depends how quickly people hack in to my server and leak it. Can people wait? It’s terrible.”

Madonna will record three albums with the new record company. In addition, the new album that has no name yet (do not believe everything you see on the web!) Madonna is also confirmed to appear on The Graham Norton Show to talk about "W.E." on Wednesday 11th January. The episode will air on BBC One on Friday, 13th January and abroad on BBC America the following day at 10:30pm ET/PT, Expressing his delight at finally welcoming Madonna to the show, Graham Norton said, “I couldn't be more excited! This is my real Christmas present. I may have to retire, but that's not a promise." Madonna will also be joined by two of the stars of the film Andrea Riseborough and James D’Arcy.

The star recently spent some time in London again while she was making her new movie W.E. – which follows the controversial romance between American divorcee Wallis Simpson and King Edward VIII.Madonna has revealed she felt a strong connection to Wallis.

“Definitely,” she told the February issue of UK magazine Glamour when asked if she could relate to Wallis. “When you move to a new country, there’s an anonymity; you can start all over again. That was refreshing when I moved to England, but then there’s the feeling of being an outsider, of being lonely, of not having roots, of not quite being understood.
“[Wallis] started off thinking, ‘This is the greatest love story of the 20th century,’ only to find out that all love requires compromise. There is no such thing as a perfect love, you can’t rely on one man to make your life complete and, in the end, happiness lies in your own hands. That is a discovery I can relate to.”

Madonna has enjoyed a lengthy career and constantly manages to reinvent herself.The 53-year-old star has tried her hand at music, movies and even designing clothes. She does her best to ignore her critics and has advised young businesswoman to give everything they have to their chosen career.

Madonna interview: on directing W.E.

Madonna explains why she asked her ex-husbands for advice when directing her film about Wallis Simpson.

What Madonna wants Madonna usually gets. So it came as something of a shock for the diva to be told she couldn’t do exactly what she wanted as she embarked on directing the film of a story that had fascinated her for years.

“I had to learn to deal with disappointment gracefully,” she recalls. “Every day I heard the word no a thousand times. 'No, that can’t happen. No, we don’t have time for that. No, that’s too expensive. No, no, no.’ Trying to work with those kinds of restrictions and being creative too is a real challenge.”
She surmounted the challenge and the result is W.E., a lavish depiction of the love affair between Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson set against the backdrop of the auction of items from their estate and told in conjunction with the story of Wally Winthrop, a contemporary New York woman who is obsessed with the life of the Duchess of Windsor, through whom she lives vicariously.

“I’ve long been intrigued by Wallis Simpson,” says Madonna, “but I didn’t want to make a straightforward biopic because I’m always disappointed when I watch movies about historical figures: they either don’t tell the whole story or they don’t tell the story I know. So I thought it was important to tell this story from the point of view of a contemporary woman who goes on her own journey in search of love and happiness.”

W.E. is Madonna’s second directorial effort; the first, 2008’s Filth and Wisdom, met with lukewarm reviews and had only a limited release. “I’m not sure what expectations people have of me as a director, but I think they are more critical of me because I’ve been successful in other areas if my life, and I feel the pressure.”
Madonna spent two years researching the life of Wallis Simpson and writing the script. She wallpapered an empty room in her house with pictures from auction catalogues and photographs of the Duke and Duchess throughout their lives.

“I was sitting in a room that was completely and utterly inundated with their images so I could soak up their energy. I was trying to understand the nature of their love story and trying to figure out for myself if there is such a thing as perfect love.”
Madonna, who has a daughter, Lourdes, by her former personal trainer Carlos Leon, a son Rocco by Guy Ritchie and an adopted son and daughter, last year ended a relationship with male model Jesus Luz and is currently involved romantically with Brahim Zaibat, a French break-dancer. “I know what it feels like to be loved a lot, but no one’s ever given up their kingdom for me,” she laughs.
For the role of Wallis Simpson Madonna saw scores of actresses before casting Andrea Riseborough, whom she had seen as the young Margaret Thatcher in the BBC film The Long Walk to Finchley. “I was looking for a certain quality: something fragile, androgynous and yet feminine in a really old-fashioned way. When I saw Andrea, I knew immediately she was the one.”

The Australian actress Abbie Cornish portrays Wally, whose obsession with the Duchess of Windsor leads her to question her own unhappy marriage. The British actor James D’Arcy plays Edward VIII.
Help and support came from Mohammad Fayed, who allowed Madonna to film on land in the Bois de Boulogne and gave his permission for his likeness to be used in the film.
“I also knew he was in possession of many of the letters between the Duke and Duchess, and he was extremely generous and forthcoming with them,” says Madonna. “As soon as I came into his office he opened up books and pages of letters for me to look at. I found them very insightful because people reveal a lot about themselves in a letter – things you don’t get from a book, like the way they speak to each other and the nicknames they gave each other.”
In return for Fayed’s assistance, Madonna helped his daughter’s charity for underprivileged and abused children. “It was a trade-off and I think it was a fair trade.”
Four bodyguards stand nearby as we talk in a hotel room. Wearing a red blouse and black pencil skirt by Yves Saint Laurent, the singer-cum-director is in a cheerful and upbeat mood. “He’s here? Excellent!” she declares when told that Antonio Banderas, whom she once expressed a desire for, was in the same hotel giving interviews. “I used to have a terrible crush on him, it’s true,” she laughs. “But I think he’s taken.”

She did, however, call on two previous husbands, Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie, both of whom have directed films, for help with W.E.
“I talked to Sean about making the film, and he’s always been supportive of me. I gave the screenplay to Guy and shared the concepts and the stories and the ideas with him because he was interested in it from a historical point of view.
“They never really gave me specific advice about telling the story, but Guy would give me technical advice about cameras or using digital versus film or one cinematographer being better than another – just technical things.”
Although W.E. has been taking up most of her time for the past three years, she has not abandoned her singing career, and her 12th studio album will be released early next year. She is also eager to make another film. “I’m thinking about possible subjects,” she says, “but I am a hopeless romantic, so I’m sure that romance and love will be part of the story.”
'W.E.’ is released on Jan 20.

Pop star Madonna has reached agreement to pay K24 million to eight sacked school employees in Malawi who sued her over unpaid benefits and unjustified sackings after the collapse of her schools project.
The group of sacked workers included chief executive Anjimile Oponyo.
The singer contested that there was nothing unfair about the termination of the employees' contracts, which was necessary due to genuine economic reasons.
The staff had claimed that they were being forced to sign a discriminatory termination agreement which was "unfair and unconstitutional".
The industrial court in Blantyre however told Madonna to pay up.

Spaniard arrested in "Madonnaleaks" case

Spanish police arrested a 31-year-old man on Wednesday and charged him with illegally leaking an early recording of a new Madonna song on the internet.
At least one demo recording of "Give Me All Your Love" was posted on the web in November, two months before the planned release of Madonna's first new album since 2008's "Hard Candy.
Police did not give the name of the man arrested in the city of Zaragoza in northern Spain, but said his initials were J.M.R. and that he was a big Madonna fan. He was charged and released, a police statement said.
The "Madonnaleaks" investigation began after lawyers for the singer -- who said in November that she was very upset over the leak -- traced the posting to Spain. Police said they found recordings of the song in a search of the suspect's belongings.
Intellectual property watchdgos have targeted Spain as one of the world's largest copyright violators.

Website perezhilton.com reports that Sia is after all included in Madonna's new album, out in spring. It's a strings and flutes song co-written by Sia and produced by William Orbit. It's probably called "Trust", as previously reported.
Also, the album will have four ballads and apparently Martin Solveig and Stuart Price have both done some remixing to "Gimme All Your Luvin".

Merlin star Katie McGrath has admitted that she was surprised by how "normal" her W.E. director Madonna seemed.

McGrath, who plays Lady Thelma Furness in the two-tiered drama, told Digital Spy that the pop icon would often bring her two oldest children Lourdes and Rocco to the set.
"She's a mum, her kids visited the set and she's just like everybody else," McGrath said. "She was so passionate about what she was doing and she really wanted it to be good.
"She knew every detail about Wallis Simpson's life. You could ask her anything and she had an answer. You don't think about her being involved in the nitty gritty of everything, [but] she would choose my jewellery. I'd come on set fully dressed and she'd do the final touches to my jewellery and my hair.
"You don't think about her being that involved, but at the end of the day when somebody's that successful it's because they're that involved."

W.E. - starring Andrea Riseborough, Abbie Cornish, James D'Arcy and Oscar Isaac - will open on January 20, 2012 in the UK and February 3, 2012 in the US.

Huge leather heels, pretty gold jewelry...She seemed to be having a good time, laughing, kidding about Anderson's suit, singing little songs about how they passed time on the set. Her publicist came into the picture once to fix M's pose so she wouldn't flash the camera. Andrea R(iseborough) was the only (other) star there, but hardly got any attention. I don't think this will air until the week before the superbowl.
"It lasted about 1.5 hours. It was mostly WE, but she also talked about adoption, empowering women, being nervous about the super bowl performance, and said there might be a concert next year cause someone has to pay for all this!"

Madonna has signed a three album deal with Universal Music Group's Interscope Records, thought to be worth $1 million per record.

Madonna has signed a three-album deal with Interscope Records.

The 53-year-old singer finished her contract with Warner Music Group - who she had been signed to since the start of her career in 1982 - with her third greatest hits album, 'Celebration', in 2007 and inked the new deal, thought to be worth $1 million an album, with the label, owned by Universal Music Group.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "It's just about keeping relevance so that she can tour. She is still in the demo phase, but the idea is to get the first album out early next year."

While she will release her records through Interscope, Madonna will continue to tour under her agreement with Live Nation Entertainment.

Madonna has also been confirmed to perform at the NFL Super Bowl Half Time Show in the US next February, which is when she is expected to make her comeback.

The 'Material Girl' singer has recently been in the studio working on tracks for her 12th album with DJ Martin Solveig and producer William Orbit.

Her manager Guy Oseary recently tweeted: "She's in the studio all this week ... and the music is so goooooooood (sic)."

So far one track, a demo called 'Gimme All Your Love' has leaked online, and a ballad, 'Masterpiece', from her directorial debut film 'W.E', has been previewed online.
